QuickStep Alpha Vinyl's Remco Evenepoor and Kasper Asgreen spent countless hours testing in the Win Tunnel wind tunnel, helping to develop Specialized's fastest TT helmet ever. This is a great example of Specialized's approach to applying its racing experience to product development.

The development of this helmet used computational fluid dynamics modeling to change the shape of the helmet, bringing the rear of the helmet closer to the rider's shoulders to reduce turbulence that creates drag. Additionally, an integrated aero head sock is used to improve air flow inside the helmet. It not only compresses the rider's ears and hair, optimizing the aerodynamic effect inside the helmet, but also contributes to keeping the helmet in the optimal position while riding. The result is an additional 26 seconds off the 40km time trial race time, which Remco Evenepool won by a few tenths of a second.

The S-Works TT 5 helmet is equipped with a Class 1 optical shield. Unlike traditional cradle-shaped clear plastic lenses, it does not distort your vision at all. This shield has a hydrophobic coating and a high-grade (EN166) anti-fog coating to keep water droplets out and maintain clear visibility even in adverse weather conditions during the race.

The adjuster on the back of the head provides a comfortable fit that matches the head shape of each rider. The angle adjustment function also enhances the compatibility between the helmet and eyewear. The adjustable Tri-Fix web splitter features a narrower 10mm strap to minimize bulk around the ears and neck for superior comfort.

Ultra-light and ultra-comfortable MIPS Air Node technology built into the helmet's padding features a low-friction layer that reduces brain-shaking rotational forces. Specialized's unique development process creates a mesh that maximizes breathability, performance, comfort, and lightness.
