The Tarmac SL8 delivers unprecedented speed with aerodynamics, lightness and ride quality never before thought possible. After more than 20 years of development, the 8th generation SL8 is not only the fastest Tarmac ever, it's the fastest race bike in the world. Experience the latest generation for yourself.

Being aero or light alone doesn't win races. It's about speed. And to be fast, you need aerodynamics, light weight, stiffness and compliance all mixed together, with no compromises on any of them. The Ride Science team used real-world data to simulate races and proved that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest on major race routes, saving 16.6 seconds over the SL7 over the 40km distance, 128 seconds from Milan-San Remo and 20 seconds to the top of Col du Tourmalet.

Aero everything: Not only did they improve the look, they improved the aerodynamics of the parts that actually have an effect: the tip. In the process, they created the Tarmac SL8, the most aerodynamic road bike ever, surpassing the Venge. The new nose cone is the first part of the frame to hit the wind. The steerer, which determines the head tube width, was moved to the rear of this nose cone, which protrudes extremely forward. As a result, the tip shape of the head tube can be made sharper, further reducing air resistance. In addition, taking advantage of the UCI rule change, the Tarmac SL8 uses the thinnest, most aerodynamic seat post ever. This makes it easier for the high-speed air disturbed by the pedaling legs to flow backwards. This is the extent to which a winning frame has been designed.

Minimum weight and maximum aerodynamic performance: Using the knowledge gained from the Aethos development, the team set a goal of building the Tarmac SL8 at the very limit of UCI weight regulations. To achieve this, we prioritized reducing the weight of the down tube, seat tube and rear of the bike. The new frame geometry distributes loads more efficiently, eliminating the need for extra carbon layers to add stiffness. The result is a frame that weighs just 685g, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other bike* in the WorldTour. *Excluding the 585g Aethos ridden by Kasper Asgreen on a stage of the Tour de France.

■Relentlessly fast, yet superb: The SL8 has a 33% higher stiffness-to-weight ratio than the SL7. The result is legendary handling, explosive response and World Championship-proven geometry that's even better. Power is delivered without leaks when you step on the pedals, allowing for fine steering. Vertical compliance has also been increased by 6% to reduce the feeling of being pushed up when sitting. This achieves a new level of comfort, which is incredible for a race bike. While many race bikes have peaky behavior, this bike floats over cracked and uneven pavement while maintaining a supple ride. Thanks to Rider-First Engineered™, riders of all heights can enjoy the same ride quality and handling performance. The race-proven geometry and 32mm tire clearance remain the same as the SL7. By choosing wider tires, you can flexibly adapt to any course condition.

■BEYOND GENDER: It has been found that the physical characteristics of cyclists are more individual differences between the same sex than differences due to gender. The reason for preparing bikes for men and women is not well supported by data, and making bikes specifically for each gender is subjective and outdated. With the Tarmac SL8, anyone can experience the latest generation advantage. The time has come to eliminate gender barriers.

■The S-Works Tarmac SL8 frameset features a 68mm wide threaded bottom bracket, flat mount disc brakes, and seamless integration features that make setup hassle-free. It's the perfect base for building your dream car.
