VISION wheelset 28" Metron 60 RS Center Lock | Shimano Road

Vision already plays in the top wheel league with the Metron SL series, where it regularly sets standards. The RS models even surpass this. The abbreviation "RS" stands for "Racing Sport" and shows which target group is explicitly addressed. Developed together with professional racing cyclists, all components are perfectly matched to each other in order to perfect the optimum interplay of stiffness, aerodynamics and low weight.Most of the production is done by hand, which guarantees high quality and durability.
Thanks to the rim height of 60 mm, the wheelset makes both fast rides on flat terrain and racing against the clock a pleasure.

Gen 3 rims
The rims are, of course, made entirely of carbon, and it's not just the look on the scales that will make your heart beat faster, as you can immediately convert your energy into propulsion without any loss during powerful acceleration. Nothing is wasted. The special shape has been optimized in the wind tunnel and, together with the blade spokes, reduces air resistance and thus enables higher speeds with less effort. The unique rim flange with its flat semi-hook profile also contributes to this. Nevertheless, it holds the tire securely in the rim well even at high air pressures and offers you maximum safety. It is also very resistant to punctures. Thanks to the enormous inner width of 23 mm, wider tires are perfectly supported, which prevents them from kinking in fast bends and ensures greater riding stability.
Vision has introduced a new lamination process for a perfect look. This means that aesthetic defects can be ruled out from the outset and the surface is highly resistant to mechanical influences.

V-1000 hubs
The hubs are also an in-house development from Vision. Although they are rather discreet on the outside, the inner values are very convincing. Their high-quality aluminum body generates a high level of rigidity and the new design offers significantly more space for the spokes, allowing them to be mounted without contact. The perfectly sealed ceramic industrial ball bearings are a highlight. With their extremely smooth and light running, they contribute significantly to the good rolling characteristics of the wheelset. On the rear wheel, the P.R.S. toothed disc freewheel with conically arranged discs ensures uninhibited propulsion. Here, 72 engagement points interlock and reduce the freewheel travel to an incredible 5°. In addition, spiral-milled guide grooves on the freehub body, on which the two toothed pulleys sit, ensure perfect functioning.
Despite the highest quality of workmanship, maintenance or repair will be necessary at some point, but this is no problem because disassembly can be carried out largely without tools. In addition, each hub is engraved with a code that can be used to clearly identify suitable spare parts.
In order to reduce the susceptibility to punctures, the straight-pull design was chosen. This eliminates the spoke bend, which is prone to breakage. The 2:1 lacing is also interesting. This makes it possible to reduce the number of spokes, which saves weight without negatively affecting stability.

Carbon spokes
Rims and hubs are connected by carbon spokes. Due to their blade shape, they cut through the wind with almost no resistance and therefore have no negative impact on aerodynamics. If necessary, the wheels can be easily re-centered as with steel spokes.

To underline the exclusivity and high quality, the wheelset is supplied in a stylish transport box.
