S-Works Prevail 3 – Designed by Air

Cooler heads win. Combining maximum comfort with the benefits of excellent temperature regulation, the third generation of the Prevail is the ultimate all-around helmet that excels in hot conditions, strenuous climbs and mountain stages. To accomplish this, engineers removed the airflow-blocking foam bridges in the center of the helmet, making the Prevail 3 the Specialized helmet with the largest ventilation area (24.5 % larger than the Prevail II Vent's).

Helmet design redefined. The conventional approach to helmet design is that more foam (EPS) results in better energy distribution. To revolutionize impact energy management, Specialized innovated beyond the proper use of foam in the Prevail 3. The so-called AirCage construction features woven aramid "cables" running through the helmet, which are attached to the side panels of carbon fiber. The technology relies on the same operating principle as a suspension bridge in the event of an impact to distribute local forces throughout the helmet.

MIPS Air Node | The ultra-light and extremely comfortable MIPS Air Node technology is integrated directly into the helmet padding. It consists of a smooth, low-friction layer that effectively dissipates rotational forces. Based on Specialized's development work, MIPS has incorporated perforations in this layer that maximize breathability, performance, comfort and weight savings. That Specialized takes its responsibility to the rider seriously is also evidenced by the 5 stars in the prestigious Virginia Tech® Helmet Rating™.

Mindset Fit System | Revised for ease of use while riding, the occipital base fit concept improves comfort by allowing you to match the helmet's fit to your individual head shape. While the ultra-lightweight and ANGi-compatible Mindset system can also be adjusted in height for fine tuning, the adjustability of the helmet angle guarantees greater compatibility with a wide range of glasses models.

Tri-Fix Web System | Thanks to individual adjustment options, the Tri-Fix strap system offers the rider additional comfort. The revised and thinner ribbon with a width of 10 mm also minimizes the noise usually caused by the strap.
