Don't get me wrong, Specialized is serious about racing. The podium at the Grand Tour and the feats of the classics are embedded in our DNA. However, sometimes it's important to enjoy the ride as you like, as you like. Aethos was born to meet such needs. Of course, without sacrificing performance, the frame is the lightest, yet designed without any compromise in style. All of the calculations that were repeated billions of times during the development process were to achieve just one goal. What Aethos wanted was a purely best ride.

■ The Aethos frame is designed to achieve the ultimate ride feel, lightness, and style in the best balance, for acceleration performance for running up steep slopes, downhill handling that requires skill, and even long-distance riding. We have cleared the required comfort at a high level. So how did you make them happen? We've rethought the shape of a traditional road frame and made minor but important changes to a shape that significantly improves rigidity and balance while not adversely affecting weight or durability. By combining this with a completely new layup and a manufacturing method that has been improved over the past few decades, we have completed the lightest frame (585 grams for S-Works size 56 cm). Aethos isn't just a new bike, it's a new model.

■ Even if it is an ultra-lightweight frame, it is meaningless unless it has driving performance that enhances the sense of security. Therefore, we have developed the Aethos frame so that you can experience the excellent ride quality by achieving the perfect balance of front and rear rigidity. By studying the bending and properties of carbon fiber, we were able to discover innovative facts about the force transmitted through the frame. If you pedal a few times, you will feel that this outstanding driving is the standard for the future.
